Potassium hydrogen sulphite, KHSO3

The primary Potassium hydrogen sulphite, KHSO3, can be precipitated in monoclinic crystals by addition of alcohol to a solution of potassium carbonate into which excess of sulphur dioxide has been passed. It is unstable, readily losing sulphur dioxide. Its heat of formation in aqueous solution is 211.3 Cal.
